چکیده
We present a parallel time-stepping method for fluid-structure interactions. The interaction between the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations and hyperelastic solid is formulated in fully monolithic framework. Discretization space based on equal order finite element all variables variant of Crank-Nicolson scheme used as second time integrator. To accelerate solution systems, we analyze parallel-in method. For different numerical test cases 2d 3d efficiency resulting approach. also discuss some special challenges limitations that are connected to structure problem.

A parallel nearly implicit time-stepping scheme†
Across-the-space parallelism still remains the most mature, convenient and natural way to parallelize large scale problems. One of the major problems here is that implicit time stepping is often difficult to parallelize due to the structure of the system. Approximate implicit schemes have been suggested to circumvent the problem [5]. These schemes have attractive stability properties and they a...
متن کاملTime Stepping for the cable equation, Part 2: Parallel performance
In this Part 2 of our work, we continue the discussion on time-steppers for the cable equation, modeling action potential propagation in cardiac myocyte cells. Here we report results from parallel computations. The cable equation is a diffusion-reaction PDE for transmembrane voltage, whose reaction (source) term depends on several voltage-dependent quantities (gates), each satisfying a first or...
متن کاملRegional Time Stepping for SPH
This paper presents novel and efficient strategies to spatially adapt the amount of computational effort applied based on the local dynamics of a free surface flow, for classic weakly compressible SPH (WCSPH). Using a convenient and readily parallelizable block-based approach, different regions of the fluid are assigned differing time steps and solved at different rates to minimize computationa...
متن کاملTime Stepping Classes for Optimization
This report introduces the “Time Stepping Package for Optimization”, or TSOpt, which is an interface for time-stepping simulation written in C++. It packages a simulator together with its derivatives (“sensitivities”) and adjoint derivatives with respect to simulation parameters in a single object called a Jet, which can be used in conjunction with an optimization algorithm to solve a simulatio...
متن کاملTime stepping for vectorial operator splitting
We present a fully implicit finite difference method for the unsteady incompressible Navier–Stokes equations. It is based on the one-step θ-method for discretization in time and a special coordinate splitting (called vectorial operator splitting) for efficiently solving the nonlinear stationary problems for the solution at each new time level. The resulting system is solved in a fully coupled a...
